The Encyclopedia of Unsolved Mysteries
by Colin and Damon Wilson, 1988 Contemporary Books, Inc., 318 pgs., illustrated with photographs, no bibliography but some sources mentioned in text, index.

This book is an excellent collection of some of the more popular mysteries and a good compilation of all there was to say about each one at the time, but from a believer's point of view (at least in the case of "spontaneous human combustion"). Many of the mysteries have been solved since, but most haven't; and the book makes a good read for the person who's ready for a little more information about anomalous phenomena without being swamped with too much at once.
