Pili Mara (the Tiger Tree)

Area(s) reported: Asia:India:Karnataka - Patrame
Date(s) reported: "2007, Aug."

"The Pili Mara (""Tiger Trees"") of India are said to attack animals such as cows or humans when they get too close. There is no distinct plant associated with the Pili Mara; rather, any tree that attacks animals is a Tiger Tree, so it appears to be a form of spirit possession affecting plants!"
